If you have checked out loads of websites, you have probably come across some error message every now and then. An error may occur if the web hosting server can't process a request (Error 400), if you must log in so as to see some content and you have not done so (Error 401), if you are not permitted to access some webpage (Error 403) or if a link leads to a file that isn't on the server (Error 404). Receiving this kind of messages may often be annoying as the pages have nothing in common with the actual Internet site. That’s why some web hosting service providers permit you to use your own error pages that'll match the design of your own website and that may have any content that you want - information why the error has taken place, a suggestion how to proceed or even some funny remark. This type of function will help you keep the visitor on the site whatever the error and the reason for it.
Custom Error Pages in Hosting
You can set up customized error pages for each of your domains or subdomains. The feature is supported by all hosting
package which we provide, so after you log in to your Hepsia Control Panel and check out the Hosted Domains section, you can click on the Edit button for a domain/subdomain and in the pop-up that will show up, you can choose the sort of error page that should show up - a default one from our system, a typical Apache web server page or a custom one. For the last mentioned option, you have to specify the URL to the page, so when you use customized pages, you must upload the files inside your hosting account first. Another way is to use an .htaccess file placed inside the domain or subdomain folder with a line for each and every error type. The actual syntax can be located in our Knowledge Base, so that you can use this function even if you don't have any previous experience.
